mismo, -ma adj.

1   Indica que la persona o la cosa que se presenta es una sola en distintas circunstancias: estos tres libros son del mismo autor.

2   Que es muy parecido o casi igual: ser de la misma opinión.

NOTA En esta acepción, va antepuesto al sustantivo.

3   Resalta la fuerza de lo que se dice: es real como la vida misma.

4   Indica que es la persona o cosa citada y no otra la que realiza la acción: tú mismo me dijiste que me recogerías.

5   Indica que la persona o cosa a la que sustituye no ha cambiado: tú ya no eres el mismo.

6   Exactamente; en concreto: hoy mismo te llamo para quedar.

pron. Cuando no acompaña al nombre, por hallarse este ya expresado, o precedido del artículo: este hombre es el mismo; digo lo mismo.

Se usa pleonásticamente junto a pronombres, adverbios y sustantivos para reforzar la identificación o para hacer resaltar la participación en un acto.
